The Breton horse originated in the Brittany province of northwest France for draft work and was raised for meat. There are three distinct sub-types of the breed that developed for different uses in various sections of the province. They are the most popular draft breed in France and have maintained their smaller size but still have incredible strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
